Children's Author, Helene Gardiner, Awarded Patron at Emma's Hedgehog Hospital

“I was thrilled to be invited to Emma’s Hedgehog Hotel in July 2022. I had spent months researching how to write and illustrate my first children’s book, which aims to raise awareness for hedgehog decline, but I had never had the opportunity to visit a rescue.

Emma’s Hedgehog Hotel provides a crucial refuge for hedgehogs who have been injured or are in poor health. Under the ethos of Rescue, Rehabilitate, Release, Emma and her team of champion volunteers provide the care and support to nurture these important and beloved mammals back to health, and the wild where they belong.

Joining Emma and her team of tireless heroes, as patron for Emma’s Hedgehog Hotel, is an absolute privilege. I will happily do what I can to support their work and continue to give a voice to wildlife in need by writing, illustrating, and speaking their stories.”
