March 2026
Spring has truly sprung at the Weir Garden!
The gardens are awash with spring flowers, and what a show!
Something tells me our unusually mild winter and the lack of frost have had an astonishing effect on this year’s wild flowers. I’ve never seen such a spectacular and abundant display.
From seas of yellow daffodils…
Bearing in mind that last year’s daffs were predominantly blind…
I urge you to visit soon, as everything is early! The daffodils may not last through Easter!
The bumblebees are certainly enjoying a feast and have been out and about, since January.
I love the delicate cream and yellow of the primroses. You won’t have any trouble finding them, as their carpeting the gardens too.
Amongst the abundance of deep yellow daffodils, you’ll find the gorgeous lemon tones of the paler varieties. Here, they look like they’re waiting for someone to paddle down river :)
Though the snowdrops are over, the snowflakes have now stolen the show. You’ll find them most prolific around the rookery.
Not a mis-spelling by the way. I definitely said rookery, not rockery, of which we have both!
I can’t wait to see how the bluebells progress.
