Painted in watercolour, this leopard cub was originally painted without a bumblebee, but I always felt there was something missing…
It turns out, I was right!
Leopard cubs frequently chase bees, butterflies, and other insects as part of their playtime. While insects are not a significant food source, chasing them is an important part of developing the motor skills, coordination, and stealth required for hunting.
So, I decided to add one of my watercolour bumblebees to the print. It’s since become my favourite piece to-date, and very special to my heart, as it features the wildlife I most adore; bees and wild cats!
But, if you’d like your artwork without a bumblebee, I can do that too!
Printed on 100% Cotton, Fine Art Paper, with vegetable inks, this giclee print is currently available in 2 sizes.
